I nitpicked a little today but I am pretty happy with this one so its done. I added some protruding spine shapes and refined some shadows and highlights that were bothering me.

Fine Art Prints are available on my website and the original will be at the Reno River Fest in August.

New Painting WIP "Saytr" 3

I broke out the oil paints today and worked glazes all over the painting. I'm liking where it's at right now and will probably do a little nit picking detail work tomorrow and it will be done.

Here it is right now.

To see the step by step process to get here read on after the break.

New Painting WIP inspired by Quan the Saytr

I've been itching to do another painting lately and decided I really liked the concept of one of my latest Wood Spirits, Quan the Saytr. I decided to go more goat-like in my painting so I mocked up a quick idea in Photoshop to work from.

I'm thinking I will make the bone parts of the skull look more like wood

but I'm not completely sure yet.

This is the painting as it sits on my easel right now.

To see step by step photos of the work in progress, read on after the break.
