Vulture: New painting work in progress 4

I switched over to oil paint to finish up the grisaille.
Here is the painting as it sits on my easel now.

To see the process to get to this point read on after the break.

This morning I switched over to oils and started by roughing in the people in his bowl with oil paint.
I also have one hanging over the side of his bowl.

More detail on the crowds in the bowl. I was looking at Hieronymus Bosch's paintings for inspiration and finally just used some crowd images on Google for inspiration.
I will add detail to the signs and flags when I get to the color stage.

Here I glazed over the background to even everything out better.

I started painting detail in his jacket here.

Glazing over the sleeve of his jacket and refining shapes.

Here I started refining the light and shadow shapes on his hands.

A little more refining on the hands and on his sleeve.
This is such a large canvas for me I can see it taking a long time to complete
this painting but I am really enjoying working on it.
