New Painting Hawk Wings: Work in Progress 2

Blocking in some more color today, here is my progress so far.

To see the step by step photos read on after the break.

I blocked in more sky and cloud color and then used a blender brush to smooth them out.

Blocking in the head and some wing detail using Burnt Umber and White.

Continuing with the Burnt Umber and White.

Brightened up the sky color in the lower right hand corner with Cerulean Blue and White.

Went over the hawk with a base color of Yellow Ochre and Lemon Yellow, I blocked in the
green for the pine branches at the bottom and roughed in more feather detail.
All of the oil painting so far has been done using only mineral spirits for thinner.
I'll let it dry a while now and then go with a thicker mix on the next layers of paint.
